Prophet saw daily routine based on Hadith
🌙 Night (Before Fajr) – ~3:00 AM to 4:30 AM
- Tahajjud Prayer (voluntary night prayer):
→ Prophet ﷺ would wake in the last third of the night
→ Use miswak, make wudu, and pray 8 rak‘ah + 3 rak‘ah Witr
→ Spend time in Qur’an recitation, du‘a, reflection
→ (Bukhari, Muslim)
🌅 Early Morning (Fajr) – ~4:30 AM to 6:00 AM
- Fajr Prayer in the Mosque
→ Short recitation, sometimes led immediately at dawn
→ Sit after Fajr doing dhikr (remembrance) until sunrise
→ (Muslim: “He would remain seated in the place where he prayed until the sun rose.”)
🌤️ Morning (After Sunrise to Dhuhr) – ~6:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Return home
→ Check on his family, ask if there’s food; if none, intend to fast (Muslim)
- Visit the community, settle disputes, teach, meet delegations
→ Possibly visit sick or attend janazah (funeral)
→ Occasionally go to the market, tend to personal or ummah needs
☀️ Midday (Dhuhr) – ~12:30 PM
- Dhuhr Prayer in congregation
- Qaylulah (midday nap)
→ Short rest before or after Dhuhr
→ (Tabarani: “Take a nap, for the devils do not nap.”)
🌇 Afternoon (Asr) – ~4:00 PM
- Asr Prayer in congregation
→ Time often used for socializing, teaching, checking on family
🌆 Evening (Maghrib) – ~7:00 PM
- Maghrib Prayer soon after sunset
- Dinner
→ Simple meals: dates, barley bread, vinegar, milk, or meat occasionally
→ Ate in moderation and expressed gratitude
🌙 Night (Isha and Sleep) – ~8:30 PM to 9:30 PM
- Isha Prayer
→ Sometimes delayed slightly, but always in congregation
→ Spend a little time with family afterward
- Sleep
→ Recite:
- Surah Al-Mulk, Ikhlas, Falaq, Nas
- Blow into hands and wipe over the body
→ Sleep on the right side, under a simple blanket
